But here we are.  It’s a new year, with new hopes and new dreams.  I’m standing a little taller, and think I’m ready to start to go places and take names.

I suppose at this point I should explain what’s going on.  It all started at the end of 2011 as the result of a quip that I made to my friend which he called me on.  Not a dare, but a challenge.  And quite the challenge for an introvert like me.

Since I pretty much carry my camera everywhere I go, the idea is to talk to as many people as I can over the next year or so, and get them to finish the sentence “I am…..” where the sentence is an off-the-cuff one line explanation of how they see themselves.  The hope is that the restriction will bring forth honesty in its brevity.  The results will be displayed in a gallery (which I’ll put up here soon)

I haven’t decided if I’m going to move the gallery here, or keep it on Google Plus where it currently lives, but that’s going to be the next big decision.  And, over the next few days I’ll at the very least get the shots I’ve already done posted here, and finalize the layout.

As you can probably tell, the website is bare-bones and brand-spanking-new.  Plenty to do to keep me busy in between going out and meeting new people, and potentially adding more portraits to the set.  Wish me luck!
